To infinity and beyond!

Once again I found this adorable craft at No time for flash cards.
Jacq loves all things spaceships and rockets. She was really excited to do this and loves to carry her rocket around the house yelling, "BLAST OFF!"

What you need:
Craft paper or cereal box
markers
few small pieces of foil
cottonballs
piece of construction paper
glue
scissors

I used a cut up cereal box and drew my rocket, cut it out and let Jacq draw on it.

While Jacq colored the rocket I cut out 3 small circles from the cereal box and covered them with foil. These are your windows.

Have your child glue the windows onto the rocket. Glue the rocket to the construction paper.

Add some glue to the bottle of your rocket and let your child stick the cotton balls on.

Tah dah!

Montessori Monday - Using tongs

For this activity you will need:

2 shallow dishes
pair of tongs
small tray
wooden beads to half fill one dish

Put the dishes on the tray with the tongs on the right. Half fill the dish to the left with beads.

Use the tongs to transfer the beads from left to right until the left dish is empty.

Switch the dishes so the beads are back on the left and let your child try.

As your child's skill develops try using smaller tongs and eventually tweezers with smaller objects to transfer.

Once your child has mastered this activity you can switch it up by sorting blocks by color or shape.

Happy Montessori!
